Our Exciting News

Wow this summer has been really eventful and wonderful at the same time. In September, we found out that we are going to be expecting our first little one. We counted out my and found out that my due date is May 30th. Today we went to my 12 week appointment and we were able to listen to the heart beat. That was really special because it makes it that much more real to think that I am actually pregnant. Kevin was there with me and it was touching. Hearing those little heart beats were just as exciting as when I first took the pregnancy test and finding out I was pregnant. It is really hard to put into words how I am truly feeling right now. I know that it will be this way every time we have a big appointment. But I guess that is how all new mom's feel.

Our Anniversary

Kevin and I celebrated our first wedding anniversary on Oct 16th. In lue of our first anniversary, we decided to spend a fabulous weekend in St George, Ut. We stayed at the La Quinta Inn and it was beautiful against the red rock canyon walls. Our first full day there, we traveled to Zion's National Park. We drove threw the huge tunnel and went and saw the Checkerboard Mesa. It was different to see all of the different patterns on the mountian side. It was fun. Then on our way back, we stopped at a few different places to get out and walk around and take some fun pictures. Then we hopped on the shuttle bus and rode it to the last stop and did the 2 mile River Trail which leads to the head of the Narrows. It was a beautiful trail along the river and next to the cliffs edge. It was amazing. Then after doing that trail, I decided that we should stop at the Weeping Rock trail and do that one as well since the map said that it was an easy .5 mile round trip trail. We both thought that we could do it no proplem. The map forgot to say that the first half is straight up hill. It was a killer. Good thing Kevin was there to push me up it. But still very beautiful.

On the day of our anniversary, we went and did a session at the beautiful St. George Temple. I can't believe that the temple stone has stayed so white over these last 100+ years. I love that temple. Then we went shopping. What a better day than that.

Our last full day in St. George, we went back to Zion's. Well only because the Grand Canyon was too long of a drive. This time we decided to hike the Emerald Pools trail. It was a beautiful trail but it was a lot harder than the other trails that we had been on. But well worth the aches and pains. I was very proud of myself and of Kevin for us to do it. I am not a hiker. I don't do that just for fun. But we did it together. Not just a little hike these hikes added up. Yes I could barely walk by the time we were done but I did it. Kevin and I are doing things like this together. It really makes me love and grow closer to my husband because he is right there by me and he pushes me to do great things. I love you Kevin.
