Melissa's First Birthday

Ok so I know that I am a couple of months posting this but here are the pics from Melissa's first birthday. We decided to have a big BBQ with both of our families. It was a lot of fun. Missy wasn't really interested in her presents she just wanted to play with the cousins. Then we put her in her high chair and gave her her own cake. She wasn't so sure at first but once she started tasting it, she then dove in and enjoyed every bite of it. She loved it so much that she decided to share with mommy. It was a lot of fun. I will say this I did cry on her birthday that night when I went to put her to bed. I couldn't believe that my little angle was already a year. I love her so much.

Gotta love Grandpa Chadwick!!
That is so very interesting..
Trying not to eat too much, saving room for my birthday cake.

"I'm suppose to do what with the candle??"
A little taste at first, I'm trying to be a little lady.
 Never mind.

The Last 6 Months

Wow time flies by way to fast. A lot has happened these last 6 months. Starting from my little baby turning into a sweet little girl. She is almost a year and she is a ball of fun. She has gone from this:
to this...
and then this...
She just thinks she is so grown up. Gotta love this cute girl.

Before we were able to enjoy the holidays this year, we had a very sad day in the Chadwick home. My grandfather Vernon Chris Chadwick passed away peacefully on Nov. 15, 2010. Grandma and Grandpa were loading the last few things into the trailer and they were going to head down south for the winter, when Grandpa sat down in a chair and passed away. It was very sad and he will be missed greatly. Grandpa served on the American Fork Fire Department for many many years.
One of Grandpa's greatest treasures was the 1929 La France Fire Truck. He said that he was always going to take his last ride in that truck and he did.
And this pic was taken the day before Grandpa died. Melissa and him were best of friends.

Grandpa will be missed. Melissa noticed that he was that he was gone but that didn't stop her from deciding she was going to start crawling and now almost trying to walk. Also she has now cut three teeth. Well I will just have to keep you posted on the first birthday that will happen just around the corner.

Missy's New Adventure

For over a month, every time I would sit down and eat, Missy's eyes would go wide open and she would stick her tongue out and start licking her lips. So I finally gave in and decided she must be ready to start eating solids. We started with squash and she loves it. So then we tried beans. That well didn't go over so well. Then we've tried peas. Those are going down easier than the beans. But here are a few pics of our adventures with eating solids.
This is just after eating squash. Let's just say that we didn't end up wearing it.
Most of the time after each bite, Missy will put her fingers in her mouth. Not sure why.
Missy enjoying her Peas!
Ok so this pic maybe mean but the is Missy's face when eating green beans. Not sure if she will ever get use to them. But maybe we will try again later.
Just chillin in the high chair.
Missy's smiles aren't the only thing that make me smile, she can pull some really funny other faces. This is just one of them. This is the sort of face that she gives me when I pull the camera out.

This Summer

Wow this summer has flown by so fast. So many things went on this summer. Here are just a few pics to show what how our summer went.

Aunt SherRee and Little Missy at This is the Place State Park
Katie trying out her coffin. I think it fits her well.
Missy doing what she does best. Laughing and Smiling
Missy had some really bad craddle cap this summer and so we had to put the wonder medicated shampoo on it every other day. I would have a good laugh by it. Missy didn't mind.
Grandpa Chadwick's 75th Birthday!!!
Happy Birthday Grandpa!
Going to dinner to wish a good friend off. We will miss you Lindsay!!!
This is Missy at 4 months. She is growing so fast. I love that little smile of hers. She definitely brightens my days.
