Missy's New Adventure

For over a month, every time I would sit down and eat, Missy's eyes would go wide open and she would stick her tongue out and start licking her lips. So I finally gave in and decided she must be ready to start eating solids. We started with squash and she loves it. So then we tried beans. That well didn't go over so well. Then we've tried peas. Those are going down easier than the beans. But here are a few pics of our adventures with eating solids.
This is just after eating squash. Let's just say that we didn't end up wearing it.
Most of the time after each bite, Missy will put her fingers in her mouth. Not sure why.
Missy enjoying her Peas!
Ok so this pic maybe mean but the is Missy's face when eating green beans. Not sure if she will ever get use to them. But maybe we will try again later.
Just chillin in the high chair.
Missy's smiles aren't the only thing that make me smile, she can pull some really funny other faces. This is just one of them. This is the sort of face that she gives me when I pull the camera out.

This Summer

Wow this summer has flown by so fast. So many things went on this summer. Here are just a few pics to show what how our summer went.

Aunt SherRee and Little Missy at This is the Place State Park
Katie trying out her coffin. I think it fits her well.
Missy doing what she does best. Laughing and Smiling
Missy had some really bad craddle cap this summer and so we had to put the wonder medicated shampoo on it every other day. I would have a good laugh by it. Missy didn't mind.
Grandpa Chadwick's 75th Birthday!!!
Happy Birthday Grandpa!
Going to dinner to wish a good friend off. We will miss you Lindsay!!!

Blessing Day, July 4th

We blessed Melissa on July 4, 2010. It was a beautiful day and we were surrounded by wonderful friends and family. We couldn't have asked for a better day. Kevin blessed her and gave her a beautiful blessing. We are so grateful for our little Melissa. She is a great blessing in our lives.

Welcome Home Elder Chadwick

Welcome Home Elder Chadwick. Kirk returned home on June 23, 2010, from the Florida Jacksonville Mission. We were very excited for him to come home. A few things had happened since he left. Mainly for me, I got married only a few months after he left and then we had a baby one month before he came home. I think he was excited anyway. We love you Elder Chadwick.

Kirk getting to hold Melissa for the first time. I think he is a proud uncle.

Laura made this poster for Kirk to welcome him home. It is of the Florida flag.

Melissa Raquel Arnold

Our Little Melissa arrived on May 22, 2010 at 1:23 am. She weighed 8 lbs 1 oz and was 20 inches long. It was a fairly fast delivery. Only 3 pushes and she was out. We are very grateful to have her here.

Baby Shower

So I have to give a huge thanks to my mom and my sisters for throwing me my baby shower. We had a lot of fun. Thanks to those that came. My sisters out did themselves with the great food. Yes I am very pregnant and food means a lot right now. LOL!!!

One Step Closer

Hello Everyone: I know that is has been quite some time since I have last blogged. But here is what is going on. I am now 36 weeks a long in the pregnancy and this little girl is growing like a weed. Well it feels like it. But we are very excited for her to join us. For those of you who we have had fun with in not telling the name of her. Well we are now. We are naming her, Melissa Raquel Arnold. There is some special meaning for the name but that is a long story. But we actually thought of it before we found out that it was a girl. Words can't explain how I feel about becoming a mom. I just can't wait to hold my baby girl in my arms and tell her how happy she makes me. 4 more short weeks.

Well we are almost ready for her to come. We are still working on the nursery. We have all four walls painted but I still have to work on the closet some more. I am greatful to Kevin for helping me paint everything so far. He has saved my back by painting the ceiling. The carpet is coming this Friday. I can't wait to see how it looks in the room. Hopefully my colors will work right like I have them in my head. (Pictures will come once we have it put together.)

And We're Having....

So on January 8th, we went to my 20 week appointment and we had our ultrasound. As the ultrasound tech started looking at the baby, she said that the baby was looking great. She showed us the feet first. You could see all ten cute little toes. So perfect. Then she started measuring the legs. The tech said, "Wow this baby has really long legs. I wonder where she gets them from?" Kevin and I looked at each other and was trying to figure out if she was serious or not. But I think she was joking. Then the tech measured her arms and the 10 little fingers. Then she did some profile pics of the baby. The baby's little face was so cute. The baby has a cute little button nose. I was starting to tear up a little bit. Then the tech started measuring the brain and the heart. That was neat to see the 4 chambers of the heart pumping away. Then she continued measuring the organs. Then came the big news. Was it a boy or a girl. And as plain as day, it is a GIRL!!! I am grateful for this little surprise. Kevin was a little disappointed at first but I think our little girl already has him wrapped around her little finger. Let's just say that this little one is also using those long legs to poke into me. I know that it is only going to get worse but I am way excited for the experience.
